Warehouse Relocation in Wilmington, NC
A warehouse relocation service needs a rack plan as well as a truck plan. We coordinate the storage-system move, from inventory and CAD layout through teardown, transport coordination and reinstallation, with new rack supplied where more storage is needed.
Moves here often connect older low-clear buildings along Shipyard Blvd, Carolina Beach Rd, River Rd and North 23rd St with newer 30–32 ft clear spec buildings. The new height changes the rack layout, forklift requirements and pallet position count.
Our Warehouse Relocation Service: Six Steps
Six coordinated steps, from the component inventory to the agreed layout in your new building.
Inventory before the move
Record frame heights, beam lengths, connectors, labels and accessories so the move plan starts with a clear component list. New material is specified for additions.
CAD layout for the destination
Plot rows, receiving space and shipping lanes in the new building. Our free CAD layout gives the exact pallet position count for the agreed storage plan.
Check the fit
Compare clear height, column spacing, pallet weights and forklift reach with the proposed rows and beam levels before teardown begins.
Teardown and labeling
Plan a row-by-row teardown and label components by destination row and level, keeping the move sequence clear for everyone involved.
Coordinate transport
Coordinate loading and truck arrivals with dock access and the installation sequence so components reach the destination in the order needed.
Reinstall and add new rack
Reinstallation follows the agreed CAD layout, with new rack supplied for additional positions. Installation is handled by experienced installation crews we schedule and manage.
Moving Between Old and New Buildings Here
Newer 30–32 ft clear spec buildings on the US-421 North corridor near I-140, the Blue Clay Road corridor near I-40/I-140 and Cedar Hill Road in Navassa offer different storage possibilities from Wilmington’s older low-clear buildings.
We start with the destination drawing. Column spacing, aisle widths and forklift reach determine row placement; new frames, beam levels or a different storage system may be needed to make use of the available height.
Pallet weights matter as much as space. We check the proposed beam and frame capacities against your heaviest loads and specify new components for additions.
Fitting Rack Into a New Building
Moving from a low-clear building to a taller space changes beam elevations and forklift reach. Our layout checks those relationships before rows are assigned.
Warehouse Consultations help establish pallet sizes, working aisles and receiving space. Bring the destination plan and your current component list so we can discuss where new rack is needed.
Timing the Move Around Weather and Shipping
Hurricane season runs June–November on the Cape Fear coast. Hurricane Florence flooded much of the region in 2018; move and installation planning should allow for weather disruptions, truck access changes and revised crew days.
Hot, humid summers also affect crew days in mostly non-air-conditioned buildings. We plan work around heat and coordinate phased receiving, teardown and installation rather than assuming uninterrupted dock access.
How We Differ from General Warehouse Movers
When comparing warehouse moving companies or warehouse relocation companies, ask who plans the storage system. General warehouse movers may handle product and machinery; our focus is rack layout, component identification and new rack supply. We coordinate warehouse moving services with the rack sequence so dock access and installation work do not compete for the same space.
